What’s The Difference Between The iPhone 8 And The iPhone X?

Now that the iPhone buzz has begun to settle with the announcement of 3 new iPhones we thought we’d delve into the world of all things Apple and look at the main differences between the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X and decide which one we think is better!

So the big question, iPhone 8 or the iPhone X what’s the difference?

iPhone 8

What’s new? Well, an old design that was featured on the iPhone 4 & 4s has returned. All 3 new iPhones now feature a glass back which has Apple fans talking about one obvious concern, is it just another piece of glass to smash when the inevitable happens (dropping your pride and joy!).

Well, according to Apple there is no need to worry! Apple boasts that the glass used for both the front and the back of their new iPhones is the most durable glass ever used on an iPhone.

Another eagerly awaited feature, wireless charging! The all new glass back allows wireless charging so you’ll no longer have to think of an excuse when comparing specs with your Samsung user friends! According to Apple, it will be possible to charge the new iPhone 8 up to 50% in just 30 minutes which we think is pretty impressive.

iPhone X

So now we know a few of the new features on the iPhone 8 what can the iPhone X bring to the table? Well, a huge talking point is the screen redesign. With the almost bezel-less Samsung S8 released just 5 months earlier back in April, it was only a matter of time until Apple followed suit.

It had been rumoured for months that Apple would announce an iPhone with no home button and one simply epic screen, and they have! We’re glad those rumours were true as we love the look and design of the iPhone X!

One major change that the bezel-less screen has brought to the iPhone X is, of course, the loss of the home button and fingerprint scanner. Personally, we liked the simplicity of tapping your finger on the home button to unlock the device but with all new facial recognition software, we think we’ll get over it!

Despite Apple having a slight blunder when demonstrating the new facial recognition feature during their keynote, it is reported that it has multiple features. Not only does it allow you to unlock your iPhone it also allows you to pay contacts and create fun animojis!

Not sure what we mean by animoji you can find them here along with the full list of the iPhone X’s new features.

Price

So, let’s talk money! It comes as no surprise that the new iPhones were going to be costly but with the huge changes (the iPhone X) comes a huge price tag! The iPhone X will cost £999! That could buy you 20 Nokia 3310’s.

However, if £999 is too much and you don’t fancy a Nokia 3310 the iPhone 8 will soften the blow with a starting price of £699.

So what will it be the iPhone 8 or the iPhone X? Let us know below!
